Black History Month Celebration – February 28, 2017
Join us at DPNCHC’s annual celebration of Black History Month on February 28th from 5-8PM in the Sanctuary. This year’s theme is ‘‘Mate Masie: What I Hear, I Keep’. In the Adinkra system of symbols, used by the Ashanti people of Ghana, Mate-Masie (mah-the’ mah-see’- eh) represents wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Through music, dance, visual arts and food we will be sharing stories of resistance, resiliency and recovery from throughout the African diaspora. This is a free community event and all are welcome.
